Another Update on our Current Reading
Well, I've given up on The Meaning of Revelation by Richard Neibuhr. I got a few things out of it, but honestly it was just too abstract and over my head. If anyone out there has read it and understands it, I would love a crash course and would try to pick it up again. I'm not one to easily give up on books, but I just couldn't see continuing.
On another note. A was dying to read Pride and Prejudice, so we spent an afternoon on the town trying to find an English section in a bookstore. We finally found the two small shelves in one store that housed English titles and had all but given up when I finally found a copy of the very book she wanted! I didn't intend on buying anything, but you know how these things go, especially among book-aholics! I found The Essays by Francis Bacon. I've read a few and am thoroughly enjoying them. I'll give you more details when it isn't midnight. Hopefully, A will post a review of a couple of books she just finished (you might send her an e-mail to encourage her along these lines, wink, wink).
